I've been on antibotics for almost 10 days now. I am getting a yeast infection. Tomorrow is my last day for the antibotics however I then have my wisdom teeth extracted and I'm pretty sure I will be put back on antibotics... So my question is should I wait to treat my yeast or can I do it now and treat it again if it should come back with the second round of antibotics.

If you wait, you run the risk of it becoming a vaginal infection, which will have to be treated with antibiotics, and cause more yeast to grow. I would treat it now, and then again if necessary. You don't want to suffer that long anyway.

No, you should treat your infection NOW before it gets out of control...especially if you think you might get a 2nd round of antibiotics. The longer the yeast has to grow, the worse time you'll have in trying to get rid of it. It would be far better to treat the yeast twice than have one infection that goes on far longer than it would need to otherwise.

Everytime that you take antibiotics you should, at the very least, eat a cup of yogurt each day. Or, stop at your local health food store and pick up some probiotic capsules. Antibiotics kill all bacteria. Even the bacteria that keeps your vaginal yeast levels in check. In the absence of these bacteria, the yeast grows out of control. Eat some yogurt.

What you need to do in the future is ask your doc for a diflucan prescription to go with any antibiotic prescription you get. Half way through the antibiotic go ahead and take the diflucan whether you are having symptoms or not. This will help prevent antibiotic related yeast infections.

I had the same problem awhile ago (and every other time I have to take antibiotics)
I asked the chemist about it and they said to get some of the cream to use. There isnt really a point taking the tablet or persary if you are still on meds or if you will be going back on them because the yeast infection will probably just come back

My dear, believe me, if you get a full blown yeast infection there is absolutely NOTHING that can keep you from using anything you can to treat it as quickly as you can. Yeast infections are impossible to ignore. Treat it now, and treat it later if you have to.

For the present issue get a prescription tablet for difflucin or nystatin and immediately kill the yeast. Next:

You need to start taking immediately a product called Saccharomyces-boulardii. It can be taken safely with antibiotics daily. It prevents yeast infections while you are on antibiotics.
Once you are finished take a high potency acidophilus products usually the powders are the strongest, that also contain high amounts of FOS. You would take this daily for 1 month.
Just remember to take the saccharomyces with the antibiotic, and once that's done start your probiotic with high levels of FOS.
