"aficionados" is Spanish for "fans of", so a GOLFING AFICIONADO is one who loves the game and will play golf whenever he/she can, and it also means the people who just like to watch the game. The word can be used for any game or hobby that a person really enjoys. As for myself, I am an aficionado of Australian Football.
