In one short term job (of 5 months), I was not given one day I asked for off, was paid by the shift even if "the boss" had
me work over by request a few hours, without pay no less!
I was asked to come in between 1 pm and 3 pm to work
until 6 pm to help with inventory. I showed up at work at 2pm,
and she fired me for being "late" with her hands on her hips, as I entered the door. She just said: "You're Fired!"
I smiled at her and with the sound of gratitude in my voice,
said: Thank You! What a stress relief!
No. (I almost said the same thing to another boss, as he was firing me or so I thought, he said:" I think I am going to fire you", and I said thank you (I was being called in over 1/2 the time plus working the regular 40 hour week, the 60 to 80 hours a week was causing me problems) He gave me a raise instead!

When my boss was going to fire me. I saw that look in his eyes, that kept yelling, 'Buddy, its time to go'.

I loosened my tie, put my hands in my pocket, and said. It was an honor working for you Mr. Jerome. However, it aches me that the future development and progress that I am about to encounter sooner that one wins a lottery, I would not be clinking my glass of champagne saying cheers.

Good luck to you, Mr. Jerome. Let's see how you come around.
