...when I was in high school...the school was huge with 4 floors...during the change of class there had to be "up" stairs and "down" stairs or everyone would run into each other...and if anyone were caught going up the "down" staircase, or visa versa....you got a demerit...ah...those were the days

Yes they go up but you have to have mentallity to figure out if I want to go down. There is no 2 ways around it. You have to go up before you can go down. Unless you go down first. Then you look for a way to go up. That's a catch 22 question . You have to ask yourself which way do I GO UP .? That's life's question. ONe I would want to say GO up. THose stairs go both ways and its us to say which we WANT TO GO.?

When you build stairs, you set the treads from the lower floor to the higher, so they go UP.

A HUGE factor in this is how many martini's I have had - this also effects weather I go up or down stairs head or feet first.....It all gets a bit confusing and yet fun........LOL!!!

well the stairs that are going upstairs are up and the ons going downstairs are down
