Ivy is an amazingly strong, independent young woman. She lives life with joy and is someone who is looked up too because she is also responsible and challenged.

I think the irony of her character is that if you can see perfectly, like the rest of the society, yet be completly blind of real truth.

The fact that she was blind did not stop her curiousity and fear of the unknown and conquering it on her own through true inocence.
