Suppose that a 5-foot-long object falls from a 35-foot height and that you are 6 feet tall and standing directly under the object.
How long do you have to get out of the way?
Time = ? seconds

I'm getting ~2 sec but it seems to be wrong!

well it's important to know if the 35 ft height is the top of the object or the bottom. it either travels 29 ft or 24 ft before it hits you in the head.
assuming 24 ft, 24=1/2 x 32 x t squared. or t = sqrt of 3/2.
