Looking to replace my F350 dump and F250 pickup for one truck setup. I work masonry and would like to eliminate both trucks for an F450 with a pick bed and gooseneck dump trailer. I've never towed a gooseneck but have plenty of hitch balls. Is the gooseneck easier? Will be in some tight places at times???

Thanks

gooseneck is easier to back into close spaces because you can jacknife the trailer into palces that are not much longer than the trailer,
just have to be careful in rough terrain that the neck of the trailer doesn't get into the sides of the truck bed,
I used one quite a bit on the farm and found them much more effecient than the tag-along,
had an eighteen foot gooseneck pulled by 3/4 ton chev,
the gooseneck trailer actually takes less truck to handle the load compared to the tag-along.
hope this will help you make the right decision

The "gooseneck" is actually the same hookup as an 18 wheeler has. The 5th wheel mechanism takes up a lot of your truck bed. It is easier to connect and disconnect and handles well. Go to a trailer lot and they probably have a demonstrator you could drive.

i think a fifth wheel hitch would be easier to hook up cause it will self center when u back up and it usually locks into place by its self. a goose neck trailer u need to line up the hitch right above the ball thats in the bed of ur truck. both trailers are alot easier to deal with then tow behind trailers. goose neck and fifth wheel trailers can get into tighter spaces easier cause u can make tighter turns without jacknifing the trailer.

goose neck trailer is easier to pull than a bumper then with a dump and load is even more but buy a dodge 6.7 liter instead better truck and motor but if you don't then the f550 good luck an ex 18 trucker.

def. nice to have but you just have to watch out so you dont hit the cab of the truck but it makes it nice easy to maneuver i would take it over a ball hitch any day

Yes, more stable to tow and easy to back up.
