I have been teaching for 8 years. I am 28 right now in California. Teachers are treated HORRIBLY out here and I am finished. But I would LOVE to stay in the education career. What else is there besides teaching in a classroom?

Thanks!

This is a weird question from someone in the teaching field. I'm working as a substitute instructional aide in California and I see other jobs in the field -- you've got to see them too. You could become a speech therapist or go into administration, neither one of those jobs entails classroom teaching.

Get an MFA/ or MA and teach college. I know how you feel. I'm a sub teacher right now and there's no way in hell I'd teach secondary school in CA.

Private schools are better too. You get less pay, but also less headaches.

I'm in NC and there are alot of teaching jobs here...downside.....bad pay.......unless you get a job at a private school or there is the possibility of getting with several families and teaching home school kids....there is alot of that here also....not sure about California.

There are private schools, there are book publishers who are always looking for reps. There are other states besides CA. There are teachers stores who hire as well as private tutoring centers.
