I'm 15 (currently a high school sophomore) and have Complex Regional Pain Sydndrome/Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy in my right leg, and my biggest struggle right now is to maintain my schoolwork along with how bad my pain is. I have a 504 accomodations plan in place which helps, but any suggestions for keeping good grades even with my severe pain?

Wow, I really feel for you. I had chronic pain for 3 years and it was very hard to deal with anything else. I'm assuming you are under medical supervision, but some things that helped me and still do are meditation, yoga, visualization, exercise, diet, and people who are just plain nice to you. I recommend a CD you can get by belleruth naperstack. She has a funny name but the CD is specifically a way to meditate on your pain and help reduce it. The main thing though is consistency. If you find something that helps, you have to keep doing it. And realize it won't work every time. Also, be nice to yourself. Say to yourself, "This too shall pass." Have faith.

First and foremost do as your Dr. says, do the therapy and take your medications as directed. Get rest and divide your work into smaller chunks. Do it before fatigue sets in. What times of day are best for you? Plan around those. Use your accomodations to keep your work current. Understand that finishing work is important , even if the quality might not be exactly what you want due to less time.
