Get up EARLY...15 cent bus ride to down town movies ....25 cents admission to a double feature with cartoons and dailys....walk a block to the other theatre....25 cents to see another double feature with cartoons and dailys.......SAVE 15 cents to ride the evening buss home at 4 pm. That is 80 cents so far spent. Acold fountain drink was 5 cents. Which left me 15 cents to buy either popcorn OR candy but NOT BOTH unless I had a little change to add to the original ONE DOLLAR.....1954 Panama city florida...the 2 buss drivers were my 2 next door neighbors. I was about 9 years old.

I used to buy these plastic assorted toys in a bag, like a mini car or some candy pacifier. It was so cheap that half of the toys broke the first day. Sometimes I'd buy $25 cent bags of chips and a Faygo pop.

A bottle of Coke for 10 cents, a box of 8 Crayola Crayons for 15 cents, a coloring book for 25 cents, and 50 pieces of penny candy for 50 cents. Try to get it for that now.

10 Jolly Rancher stick-things. Two candy bars. In junior high, I could buy a bottle of pop for 75¢.

Wow! When I was a kid, $1.00 would buy 20 Hershey Bars. They were only a nickel each.

Candy!
Getting $1 was the S*it.
Now when i think about it, $1,000,000 isnt that much, buys some people just a house.
Could get me out of some debt, buy myself a new house, maybe a couple cars....
Sad really.

75 cents got me into the movies. The rest was spent on candy with a bit left over for a rainy day.
