From the day that I purchased my computer I have had trouble with my mouse. It wouldn't work and then one day for no reason it worked. I recently moved and had to take everything apart. When I reconnected the mouse, it wouldn't work again. I am able to use a cordless mouse though attaches to the usb port.

You should have taken the mouse back, and got a new one. The surface you were using it on may have had an effect. You'll have the same problem with the wireless mouse also if you use it on the wrong surface. Your problem could have been the connection, or the mouse itself. If you have one that works now, stick with it.

Hi. The USB wireless is a good option anyway. If the mouse is older (and cheap) the ball may have picked up some dirt or hair. Open the bottom of the mouse (twist the ring around the ball) and look at the rollers. If they are covered with anything, clean them.
