If had no choice and had to be one or the other, I would say blind, even though I couldn't see my beloved fireworks on the 4th of july anymore or watch my favorite movie, or see my children when I finally have them. However, I choose that because I could still hear music and be able to sing, and thats like my lifeline.

Practically, I would be deaf. It's because sight is too important to loss for our daily lives. We can still communicate through writing when your deaf, much easier then communicating with talking. Writing is much more beautiful. You can still live life normally if you are deaf, as long as you have writing; everyone is efficient at writing.
If you were blind, you would "see" the world in a much more beautiful sense, but daily life will be impossible. You wouldn't be able to hold a normal job; where being deaf you can. Of course, I bet you wouldn't have to work, but I don't believe leaching off of those who earned it.

Deaf - you can get hearing aids.
Being blind is worse because you can't see anything, even if you just need glasses sight is the most important sense...
