I was wondering, I have a what feels like a pinched nerve in my back. I am 6 months pregnant. Its killing me and i figure there is not much the doctor can do about it for me. But its a sharp pain in only one part of my back and my hip. It hurts when i sit down, stand up, walk up and down stairs and it really hurts. has anyone experienced this and if so anything u did to help it feel better.

Yup very common and unfortunately there isn't much you can do to make it much better. It sounds like sciatica. I get it so bad during pregnancy that I literally am unable to walk or move around from the severe pain and numbness down my legs. They can put you through physical therapy. Last time around they had me going twice a week and they used heat pads(only under supervision since it can be dangerous for baby) and a TENS unit to calm the nerves. Also they pulled, stretched and tweaked my legs to help adjust the pelvis to support the baby better and relieve the pressure on the sciatic nerves.
Tylonel will help a bit. Also use a pressure relieving foam for sitting on and even better is tempurpedic pillow top for your bed. Unfortunately they only real cure for it is delivery of your baby. Also fair warning...alot of doctors claim that it will completely disappear after the baby is born. For most women this is true but I didn't run into that..It did become much less severe but I still have problems with it 3 years later after my son was born and it flared much earlier in my second pregnancy. Had to quit my job since I was unable to even sit upright due to pain level.

I consider that a pinched muscle could be felt in only one spot. I have a pinched nerve in my cut back back, and that i consider it all the method right down to my left ankle and all the way down to my proper knee. If the soreness appears to be touring right down to different materials or the physique i might say the nerve is pinched. Ibprofen is an anti-inflamatory that reduces the infection within the subject of the pinched nerve, but it's going to most effective accomplish that much. I have to take round 800mg of ibprofen to even feel like it's any higher, when it can be acting up. Excellent success, i'm hoping i was of some support.

well it cud probably be due to the pregnancy that you are having ,if ur OB doesn't suggest for any resolutions then change your OB before anything goes wrong, wen i took up maternal and child care i have learned that if this pains are just normal it can be relieved through proper posturing such as when you do you activities of daily living (sitiing ,standing etc..) you can also try balancing your rest and activity periods. ayt? =) but still you should consult a professional

You perhaps have gained some weight..Every lb. puts extra preassure on your back. I believe my Dr told me 60 lbs of preassure equals 1 lb. Now you are pregnant and going to gain weight. This is normal. Wear good shoes..swimming would be good as it takes the weight off when you are in the water.
I would not take any pain meds without approval of your Dr. You say you figure your Dr . cant do anything, but talk to the Dr. first...always

Its normal, it could be a nerve, like your sciatica, or it could be pulled muscles or tendons.

Stay active, stretch, take tylenol, and swim. Those are great helps.
