id say barbie was around first since it came out in 1980 and it still seems to be on top but in some countries esp. japan hello kitty is very popular

i think barbie took over hello kitty! babrie has been around way longer then hello kitty. my vote is barbie

barbie because every country has it's own version of the doll, hello kitty is only popular in asian contries. but in asian countries hello kitty and melody rule=)
