You should tell him that you'd love to help him dress-up as a girl, if he really wants to be a girl.

I would tell him to chill out for a while, give himself time to settle into his skin, and if the need does not leave, then seek professional help to wade through the process...it is required that he live as a woman for about one year before any doctor will touch him anyway. And if he thinks his troubles will end by becoming a woman, he is way off track. As a woman, he will have a whole new set of problems he hadn't dreamed of. I'd tell him to join a group of those who feel the same way, perhaps those that are going through the process..and it is a long process...it is painful, it is dangerous, and there is a chance that he may never have an orgasm again. That there is a chance that Estrogen will screw up his body to the point that he may experience congestive heart failure. He needs to be aware of many things, not just the positive side, but all side of the change. He must be very, very sure of what he is doing, and I suggest that he be at least 20-25 years old before he does anything. good luck and peace, Goldwing

Depends on what kind of changes you want to do. Totally or just superficially. Transgender or the whole works. It is not an easy trip to do the whole change. Involves alot of patience and a very strong mind to deal with the incompleteness of the changes. It does not happen overnight. You have to undergo many tests to ensure that you are mentally prepared for it, not everyone is a candidate for it. First step is of course your doctor, then you would be referred to a million other specialists that will have to do psych testing etc. Be supportive, it is hard enough to be trapped in a body you do not feel good in. If it is really what she wants then go for it.

Well if he really wanted to be a girl that bad then you could talk to him about it and you could maybe look into how much it would cost to have the surgery...but before they would even let you have the surgery they would want to know why u want to change your sex and are you mentally stable enough to do that!....
I think you would need to sit down with your friend and ask them why they want to a girl! and support there descion in anything they choose to do....if you think it will make them happier if they had the operation look into it with them and be there to support them!
Good-luck!

it is not easy and is usually irreversible, so before he makes that choice, think very carefully. try and talk to others who have undergone the process to see if it's possible to get the results he expects, and find out what are the issues he will have to deal with.
do a whole lot of research before even taking the first step.

There are many groups that can help you through this very difficult time, I suggest you do a little research on transsexuals and transgendered people and see if there is a group on the Internet that you can join to discuss your issues and questions.
I also suggest you seek counseling, because this is something that is very confusing and you will need someone who can help you through it.
I wish you luck, whatever you choose.

I'd say be prepared for a world that's not ready to accept that. Be prepared for discrimination for being not only transgendered, but also female. You are what you are, if you think you have more "female blood" running in your veins - go for it and correct your physiology. But don't be overly optimistic that the transition will be easy. There are plenty of support groups.

I would not discourage or encourage surgery. (S)he needs to make the choice.
What I would do as a girl to help him out would be to take him to the mall and get him/her some girls clothes. Let them feel what it its like to be a girl. Go all out on the appearance with makeup and everything. Take him/her out in public like that and see if they could hold up to it.

Tell him "You go girl!" Maybe snap your fingers and bob (apparently you can't say the "c" word that also means a male body part) your head from side to side/purse your lips for dramatic effect.
