I went to the dr today and she told me that it looks like I have flea bites on me.!!! How did I get fleas if I don't have a pet? I vaccumm everyday and I got all new furniture for my place. I am freaking out. I vaccumed all the furniture and the carpet twice today and spraied some spray to kill fleas but i don't see anything i have light colored carpet...What can I do? What can I get from Walmart/Lowes etc that will work....Thank you so much

You can't get anything from Walmart or other stores that will work, I'm afraid. Stores aren't licensed to sell the appropriate drugs, so they bottle up random insecticides that don't actually work. Don't waste your money.
If animals haven't been in this apartment, or your mom's, be aware that these may be human fleas - different species to cat and dog fleas, human fleas feed primarily on humans. Yuck. Go to a vets and get some proper spray - it'll be more expensive, but it'll work. Or you could call an exterminator, but that would be a very expensive way of doing it.

the former ownwer had a pet with fleas use diatomaceous powder to kill them look at a pet store for nontoxic flea control products

Your apt complex should pay to have your apt fumigated. I'd call the office and see what they can do for you.
