Usually an iMac Laptop would be the best for college, and that's what the majority go for...
The price is around $1000-$1500...the regulars, and can go up to $2000+, but you get a free iPod Nano with the purchase

The words best laptop and cheap can be synonymous together. Do what I did. Get one for very, very cheap. It is a very easy process. Just go to www.letsgetitfree.com for information on how to receive one. I got an apple macbook and I love it. They also have Sony and other laptops. If you want a wider selection than what that site offers then email me and I can give ou a link to some more. Just thought you might be interested. It is very easy, fast, and cheap. I highly recommend! =)

Get an imac. They are one of the best on the market and you won't have much trouble with it. Laptop PCs need a lot of care to keep them running well.
