Ask for a check register from your bank - they'll have a drawer full of them.
At a minimum - write down the amounts. Keep your card close to your register so you have to take them both out. Then just discipline yourself to write down the amount.
It also will help if you keep a little bit of a cushion in your checking account in case you miss one. Instead of thinking you can go down to -0- in you checking account, think you can go down to $50 or $100.
Online banking will help. You can check what's posted every day if you want. But do this in addition to the above to make sure you are on track.

You can go to any bank to ask for a check register, or two. Also sign on your online banking services, a lot of banks now offer free online banking, which you can check your trasactions for free. If you want to track your expenses, use your check card (the ATM card with either a Master Card or Visa Logo on it), because the money is deducted/withdrawal from your checking accounts directly. You can see where you spend that money. But of course keep receipts is the best, because you do want to track how much you spend, and don't want to overdrawn your account and cause any fees. Try to detinate a pocket in your wallet for all receipts.

Get on line with your bank and check or ask the bank for a register..All you do is keep track of your deposits and withdrawals.

go to your bank and ask them to give you a check register. They usually have extras.

Sorry, can't help you remember to keep your receipts... but having something to put them in might help.
