This is really a close call, especially from a journalistic point of view. Certainly it is big celebrity news. But newsworthy in a general sense? I doubt it, except in that she is SO famous and so many young women in particular like her, that it is important for the reality of her to be exposed. Kids shouldn't adulate her and wish they could have her life. They should love the safe and secure "dull" lives many of them despair of, and they should aspire to be much more personally than Brittany Spears, regardless of her financial and/or professional success.
And by the way, she may have some of the problems others have alluded to. But she was showing signs of problems before she had her first baby. That first "marriage" was bizarre. Then she marries a guy who has a baby by another girl who is also pregnant with his second child. Her brief reality show exposed her for the gross, numb skull she is now proving to be. The truth is that she never was the image she was trying to project. I pinpoint the beginning of her downward spiral to the revelation by Justin Timberlake that she wasn't really the virgin temptress she wanted us to believe she was. Once the reality of her started to leak out, it was like a balloon deflating.

i think getalife is right - i think she has been suffering from post partum depression -- she was pregnant for almost 2 years solid! She didn't have time to recover and adjust to the first one before she was pregnant again. I think she turned to drugs to try to self medicate because she was so messed up. I think if they could get her hormones straightened out she would be okay
I feel so sorry for her - her family should be doing everything they can to help her. Seems like they've abandoned her

Yes I believe that in her situation she has sought publicity and this is a direct consequence of her actions.
She clearly is a very troubled individual who (I believe) needs urgent mental health care. It seems that for the most part she is surrounded by people who are more interested in their pay packet than in offering her constructive advice. And those who choose to challenge her behaviours are quickly fired.
It is just a sad and sorry saga and the sooner those poor children can fade into insignificance the better. I just hope that their father and grandmother (Lyn Spears) do not seek to profit out of their situation.

Britney Spears is really a sick girl. If she doesn't get help soon she will be dead.She's not acting like a spoiled brat. There's something wrong with her.Losing custody of her kids was not a surprise to me. I can't believe that there isn't any women in here that can see Britney is suffering from some womans problem. And I'm not trying to be funny with that woman problem comment.It's really sad to see this girl destroy her life. Where in hell is her family?

No, she is creating issues for herself & setting herself up to get press in a desperate attempt at publicity. She is a former teen queen whose time in the spotlight has faded &, like many others, she is ill-prepared to handle it & the demands of everyday, normal life. She has been a train on the verge of derailment for years. Her boys are the only victimes in this disaster

With all the problems her is having YES it shows that there is some justice left in the world. I'm just gald they did it before someone got hurt like the kids.

not really. most of the people knew that it was inevitable that she would loose custody. it's sad. someone who has it all,fame money,etc.. shows that with all she could afford to give her kids, she can't give them what they need the most. a STABLE, well adjusted, loving home. i've seen parents who have nothing show their kids more love and stablity than her

It's crap for news. She has her problems and they shouldn't be aired out in public just so someone can come up to her later and pass judgment on her for being a bad mother.
There's no such thing as a perfect parent and all this will do is draw out the would be perfect parents to ridicule her.
