I have heard NOTHING about any National ID Card to be issued in the USA in March, 2008. Please site your source for this question. Where did you hear, see, or read this ?

Cgurl, you just gave another example of why we need one. Your earth-shattering story came from Al-Jazeera. Good job!
It's a hassle for me, to be sure. I have a driver's liscence, and a military ID that I carry that has all of this info on it anyway. 3 is ridiculous. But if my carrying it can help stem the subversive garbage put out in that article you claimed to be fact then so be it. I'm in. It was bound to happen sooner or later.
P.S.: Uncle Sam, you just mind your P's and Q's. I'm watching you.

I've heard nothing about this. But, I have no problem with it. I am an American military retiree, and as such I have carried a government ID for decades. Only the illegal aliens and other on-the-run criminals would have anything to squawk about,so far as I'm concerned. So sure! Let's show our national pride, and carry a National ID Card!

No, there has been no national ID card law passed. There should be but it hasn't happened

I hope it did. I hope everyones' DNA and blood sample will be on it as well. The only people who would have a problem with this would be the illegals, criminals, perverts, etc.
