I know it is a southern dish, came from the south although others around the country eat it too I suppose, but it's roots are in the south. And I wouldn't want it at all. I live in New York and there are no grits and gravy up here.

It sounds good, especially the kind of gravy that goes on chicken fried steak. I don't think I've had grits that way up to now. I usually eat them with butter and pepper.
