It seems the moon landing is at least a decade away. Will any of the former Apollo astronauts that walked on the moon still be alive?

hmmm... we had a 'yes' a 'no' and a 'possibly'... what can i meaningfully add to this discussion, besides:

2 Points!

Okay, that's cheating.

How about,

Yes, if we meet the goals of the current administration. (i think they are laughing up thier sleeves)

No, setbacks are bound to happen... perhaps knocking the program off the budget. Like... a war in a Mid-East country?

Maybe, damn it! Where is Andy Griffith and Salvage 1 when you need it? Private enterprise can go to the moon! We can do it!

It's possible but most will be in the 90s by the time the U.S. sends men to the Moon again around the year 2020.

No.

I have come to think of this in almost biblical terms. The Israelites cannot enter the promised land until Moses is gone. So we cannot return to the Moon until the first moon walkers are gone. Some kind of (imagined?) deeply spiritual connection.
