Which is the smallest(file size), MPEG, MPEG2, or WMV(same resolution, and same length of time)?

I need to know what format to use to record with my TV tuner card and use the least space. Thanks.

You see, for the same resolution and Bit rate, all are the same!
In all of them you can lower the bit rate and you will get more free space; however, not all give the same quality
For the same bit rate, from better to worse, the codecs are ranked as

MPEG-4, part 10 (or AVC), or
WMV, or
MPEG-4, part 2, or
MPEG-2
