Things should be ok provided you dont drink or smoke any more pot... you will also want to try and quit smoking cigs as well. People do things like drink all the time before they find out their pregnant. I wouldnt worry about what you did before you found out just dont do these things anymore and all should be well.

I smoked a little marijuana and drank alcohol as well as a few zanax pills. But I took a test 2 weeks after I conceived and stopped immediately. I am now 36 weeks and 3 days pregnant and my baby is bigger than normal and very healthy! I have had a healthy pregnancy.
I am not sure if it has caused any kind of unknown damage but the sooner you quit the better off your baby and you are. Regular doctors appointments are a must and will reassure you everything is fine.
Make sure you do stop. I was never a cigarette smoker and marijuana wasn't a way of life for me so it was easy to stop. Drinking alcohol was easy to quit but I have to admit I do miss all the partying and having fun but it's all worth it in the end knowing that you have a healthy baby and you are being the best mama you can be. The pills had me most worried. But you can't change what you have already done. All you can do is make sure you don't do it anymore.

Chances are things will be fine. The only thing that worries me is drinking - they say there is no known "safe" amount of alcohol during pregnancy, but honestly, unless you were drinking really excessively, like daily, the risk is rather small that anything would be wrong. There are TONS of women who have drinks before knowing they were pregnant and they don't all end up with babies with fetal alcohol syndrome.
As long as you quit now, that's what's important.
Just be honest with your doctor about everything you've done, so they can keep a close eye on you.

Your baby will be fine, weed has not been shown to cause any problems with the baby except ADD or ADHD. Everyone will tell you it's horrible and that you could miscarry and blah blah blah but in reality it is quite harmless, though in general it's still not a healthy habit and it's best to be as healthy as possible during your pregnancy

The first trimester is important, but forgiving too. At 5 weeks, I doubt you've done any irreparable damage. The baby doesn't directly feed from you yet, like it will in a few weeks. You know now, so make sure you stop!! & start taking prenatal vitamins if you haven't been.

Not from what you mentioned. Cigarettes cause low birth weight, not defects. MJ causes infertility, not defects. Just stop now. You and your baby should be fine. Stop worrying and take care of yourself. But don't drink any alcohol because it can cause mental defects in your child.... don't drink alcohol while you are preggers!!!

Probably not.
Honestly I was about 9 weeks with my son before I finally had a positive PG test... And i do mean positive. pregnancy positive and THC positive. i smoked (cured morning sickness) for 6 months.
my son is 10 months old now, perfectly healthy. I had him naturally, am still breastfeeding, he is standing, "talking", eats some foods, has 3 1/2 teeth, giggles, chases little doggie, etc. etc. And an absolute joy to raise and watch grow.
best wishes to you and your baby :)

not to scare you but after 2 weeks is when your child is living off your nutrients, and up until 6 weeks is the worst time to do that stuff because the child is forming all of there cells and blood vessels. So there is a possibly so make sure that you get tested when your a little farther along to see if something did affect the baby! Sorry to hear, but this is the time to change!

i doubt that it will have anything thing wrong when the baby is born as long as you STOP now! i know lots of people that have drank/smoked before they found out they were pregnant....i actually think that i might have once or twice before i found out but i dont know exactly..i dont drink that often so its not been a real concern of mine. i KNOW i didnt do drugs even before i found out so i doubt that it will hurt you. talk to your ob to make sure and be sure you stop using drugs and alcohol

It's highly unlikely that your baby will have any birth defects if you stop now.
Many mothers who even used cocaine/heroin etc said they quit when they found out they were pregnant to save their babies.
(btw the visual on your question is really funny...i pictured you doing shots and toking when your doctor called ;)
