what would be some differences between now and Odysseus's time? i think before it was okay for him to have sex with others (circe) while his wife (penelope) was at home.

Think about the fact that Odysseys fought mythic monsters and gave in to a seductress and listened to singing that could have driven him mad, and, no one on his ship got even a common cold or flu. Today, you go on a one week cruise and you can end up with Legionnaires decease, hepatitis, or a stomach virus, but you still have to listen to singing that can drive you mad.
