I consider the simple things that seem to say 'I love you' romantic. My husband tossing my bath towel in the dryer so it's warm when I get out of the shower? That's romantic. Him kicking me out of the kitchen and making dinner himself? Romantic. Taking my hair tie out because he'd rather see my hair down? No matter how much time I spent putting it up, that is so romantic and I can't be mad at him for it. Swatting my hand when I bite my fingernails because he knows I'll bite them till they bleed? It doesn't sound romantic, but it is. He has me almost completely cured of biting my nails and I am so grateful to him for it! It's just the little things that melt your heart like that that's romantic to me.

it exists, it just seems much harder to find. I think men, especially, have this attitude that being romantic and "courting" a girl/woman isn't cool or macho- when that's exactly what WE think it is, right?! Romance to me is holding doors, showing up with flowers, holding hands, helping around the house without being asked or told, spontaneous dinners out or weekend trips, phone calls for no reason, etc. I can't imagine why so many guys think this is so hard, when it makes us so happy- you's think they would like the benefits THEY get when they're romantic!
