Seems more companies are doing that. I think it's very rude.

yes, of course, that's wrong! Although the way I was fired wasn't much better.... I was handed my pink slip by another employee on New Years Eve day with NO warning after the boss called the other employee and told her where there was an envelope to give me!!!! It's all good, though- I took every cent of my 6 months of unemployment and then found a fabulous job that I love and where I make a ton more money!!!

yep i think that sucks. Its just as cowardly as breaking up with someone via email.
