What is the best method to unlock a standard bed/bath doornob, (what are the best tools to use...)

A 11/2" or a 2" finish nail works great, a straightened paper clip, a piece of 14 # copper wire. Pretty much anything straight and stiff that will fit through the small hole. Insert the tool straight into the hole and when you feel contact, gently push a little more.

All of our homes have come with little door pins that lay over the top of the molding in case of lock out. They push into the little hole in the doorknob and unlock it. If you have lost those or never got those in your house, they are available at hardware stores. I would pick up a few and keep them above your doors. You asked for standard and these are standard with all the knobs sold today.

lets see I,ve used the ink tube from a pen, small screwdriver, wire, hanger, cut Popsicle stick, branch from a tree/shrub.

if you lost the key that came with the door, get another one easily buy buying a can of spam, use the key from the spam can, almost identical and always works
