I would think about average. Most people don't need that many bedrooms so it might be people with more children and they might be poor.
My brother and his wife made about 30K but had a big house because they had 6 kids, blended family. My other brother made two more bedrooms in his basement because he had his father in law and sister in law move in. He didn't make much either but had 5 bedrooms. One niece has 4 children and is a SAHM with a husband in the service living in base housing, I think she said they got 4 bedrooms when the twins were born. Her brother is a school teacher with a SAHW they just had the 5th child on school teacher pay I don't know how many bedrooms they have but 4-5 wouldn't be too many. You don't have to be rich to choose a house with more bedrooms, it might be older of lesser quality.

This is impossible to answer without a location. A 5 bedroom house in the Midwestern U.S. may cost 150k while the same house in California would be upwards of a million.
How do we know what the home buyers salary is without knowing what they can afford?

Hard to say since there are large ones and small ones, there are different types of neighborhoods, there is new and used, etc, etc.
There is also the where in the country. A 5 BR house in San Francisco will cost a lot more than the same house in the country in TN.
