What is this book?!? PLease HELP..?

It's a book about a girl (Emily, I think) who says that her sister's lover raped a girl, and he is sent to jail or war, but he didn't really rape her. Then she grows up and looks for them so they'll forgive her, but I think they die before they forgive her and she is an old woman when she finishes writing the book.

It's Atonement by Ian McEwan--one of those books that gets better the further you get into it.
