I was flipping through the channels...and my little brother came in the room, and decided to enlighten me that there was a new Digimon series...so, when did THAT happen, by any chance?

Fully-lengthened and supported answers loved (...and the voice actors are very odd-sounding D: GYAH! But the animation looks nice~).

Anyway, details (since I'm a fan of the Digi series and can't believe I missed this news)?

The Digimon series is called Digimon Savers (depending on the area, it might become Digimon Data Squad), the fifth of the Digimon series. Unlike the previous ones, there will be no elementary school children (all are high-school students) until the second half of the serie, and no goggle-wearing leaders.

It revolves around the life of a boy named Masaru Daimon (or Marcus Daimon), a streetfighter who "talks with his fists". He met his Digimon partner Agumon in a fight.

Here, he found out about an organization called Digital Accident Tactical Squad (or DATS, I don't know if there's an alternative for this name) from a female member, Yoshino "Yoshi" Fujieda. To keep Agumon from being turned into Digi-Egg and sent back to Digiworld, Marcus had to join the organization, and worked together with Yoshi and her Lalamon / Raramon, and another member Tohma H. Norstein (Thomas H. Norstein) and his Gaomon in order to keep the balance of the Real World and Digital World.

There will be surprising elements in the serie, you just have to watch it and enjoy. :)

The show was made for the older audiences. The characters are in highschool. It is based heavily on the shonen formula in which the main character solves his problems through his fists (it is fishy, but that is how he is)
The premise is similar to Digimon Tamers in which digimons have been appearing in the real world and there is an organization covering that digimon exists.

well tonight was the premiere, its season five and the dub of Digimon Savers, the animation is more of a shonen than chibi, like the previous seasons, and there werent many announcements made, just a few online ones and the trailers
