Do you still have fun and get excited over things? You bet!
What do you do in leisure time?Play with my grand kids when they are here.
Do you feel depressed for being your age?No. There's only one alternative. I enjoy life.
Are you afraid you won't live much longer?I don't worry about that. When the time comes, it will happen.
Do you feel like years pass way too fast?Years do pass by quickly, that's why you must make every day count.
Do you have any regrets for life path and choices? No. There are some things I wish I had done differently, but I wouldn't go back and do them over, even if I could.

OK, I'm answering these in order.
Of course, I still have fun and get excited over things. Do you think I'm dead or something. Just because we age doesn't mean we give up these sensory items in our lives. We feel the same things that you do, and sometimes, we express it a little differently than you do, perhaps less animated, sometimes more.
Leisure time, when I have it I go to parties, give parties, see movies, theatre, travel, read, road trips, attend classes, enjoy life and the sciences, plus other things unmentionable.
Why in the world would I be depressed at being my age? I have gained a world of wisdom and experience that you can't even begin to understand at your age. Wait until you are my age (60) and ask yourself that question.
I will live as long as God has ordained me to live, be it 60 or 600 (and one day this may actually be possible thanks to Nano-Technology).
No, the years haven't passed way too fast, now they do. There's just not enough time to do all of the things that I still want to do. However, I am hoping that God has seen fit to grant me a couple dozen more years so that I can solve at least some of the remaining mysteries of this universe.
I have absolutely no regrets of my life path and choices. Let's see if you can match this: 1). Child 2) Purveyor of all services to Seniors, 43 years 3) Student 4) Waitress 5) X-Ray Technician 5) Supervisor 6)Editorial Assistant 7) Mortgage Loan Officer 8) Wife 9) Mother 10) Paralegal 11) Manager 12) Mortgage Funder 13)Government Worker for years 14) Workforce Development Specialist 15) Social Services Case Manager 16) HR Specialist 17) Business for self, and I'm really not done yet.
Don't ever make the mistake of thinking that just because a person has a few years on them, that life is over and they'll just sit in a chair and watch it pass them by. I know many Seniors that are quite a few years older than I, and they're still going strong and not slowing down.
You are only as old as you feel - today, I'm 23!

Yes I still have fun and get excited over things !!! Like sex for instance !!! What do I do in my leisure? See question # 1 !!! .. lol ... No, I don't feel depressed for being my age. Believe it or not I don't feel much different then I did at 21 !!!!! I don't think about how much longer I have to live !!! I don't want to waste the time to do that !!! .. lol .. Time doesn't pass any faster now then it ever has !!! It always has passed too fast !!! I have a few regrets about choices I have made and paths I've taken but now I can see that the journey was planned from the beginning and things happen for a reason !!!

You're really on the wrong page, nobody here is truly THAT old. Some of us have slowed a little in movement with maturing, but there's many a lad and lassie here that can educate you with a jig or polka -- albeit the joints may give the fiddler competition on the volume. As far as excitement is concerned, we just don't display the tent poles as much but still camp fairly frequently . Leisure is leisure, and leisure at any age is a leisurely proposition. Fortunately, again you're on the wrong page, none of us here that I'm aware of, had first-hand adult experiences with the depression. Don't know that I've ever seen a "life-clock", but would think it would be more worrisome to consider "how" than "how long". How fast did your summer vacation pass you by ? Time is relative, pain goes slowly, pleasure quickly. Do you know anyone that doesn't and have regrets and/or doubts about choices ?. I would suggest you find some old fart for some of these things dealing with old age. Around here we still jump rope, chase dragons, and converse with the wee folk and beasties.

From a Baby Boomer (aged 58) not retired yet:
Sure I still get excited about lots of things. This doesn't wane as you get older. I went to our national football grand final last week, and dressed in my supporters' gear and waving a flag, yes I was mega-excited ! Also about more day -to-day things like going to a party or some other get-together, having friends over for dinner....just the normal things that anyone would get excited about.
Leisure time - well I still work so thats still a small amount of my week. I visit my son and granddaughter, go shopping,, take in a movie. At night, we often go to a show and/or dinner. I belong to couple of special interest clubs, so go along to those meetings. I have a full and interesting life, I think.
Depressed? Never. You can't do anything about it and its better than the alternative.
Afraid I won't live much longer? Well anyone could be in that situation....a teenager could be on a short life-span. I'll live until I die, and none of us knows how long that is going to be. Its not like older people sit around watching the clock / calendar, waiting for the Grim Reaper to strike.
Sure the years fly past, its a natural phenomenon. I think it happens to everyone.
Any regrets? Not really....besides marrying my first husband, but there isn't any reason to dwell on these things. If you get on with life, and live in the present instead of the past, everything comes into perspective.
Its nice of you to ask these questions....but don't worry, m'dear, the answers will all be revealed to you one day - and , like you said, time flies so you'll know sooner than you'd expect !
Best wishes on your journey :)

My partner and I retired last year and moved to France, most of the day is spent trying to get the house into some order, I have put in a new kitchen, dining room, converted a bedroom into a dressing room, a bedroom into an office where I am at the moment. Refurbished the two upstairs bedrooms for visitors. We zoom of at an orderly pace in our caravan, when we have the time, the last trip a couple of weeks ago was to the Vendee, tres jollie, the garden takes some looking after it just over 1/2 acre, lawns, flower beds, fruit trees and a vegetable plot. I will be going fishing at a friends lake next week with my little boy who is coming over, ( he is 41 6'2" and muscled). We have a constant stream of visitors throughout the summer so we are never bored, we were, at one time, considering doing bed and breakfast, too much like hard work. well it is time for breakfast, fresh French bread, Normandie butter, home made jams of all kinds, dark French coffee. Do I regret it? no just the circumstances that put me here, we are never bored, we don't have the time, but the time does pass quickly. This may seem a little peculiar but some times I don't know what day it is, not that I care very much, one day melds into another, tomorrow isn't Tuesday it is the day to build a fire pit for the dechette and garden refuse.

1. I still have great fun at 65! I get mega excited when looking forward to a vacation; a new experience; meeting new folk; a fav TV program returning to the new season ['24' for example]; a child's accomplishment; grandchildren's events; a new 'love', you name it!
2. Since I still work FT I don't have a lot of leisure time...evenings I spend time cooking, on the internet, talking to friends, reading and playing with my kitty.
Weekends I got to street festivals; flea markets; wish shopping; brunch; the movies.
3. I don't necessarily feel depressed being 65...worked hard to get here! lol...but I do reflect at times on how fast time now seems to go. I try not to worry about death - after all each and every one of us, regardless of age are 'dying' from the minute we are born...we just don't know the when, where and how.
4. No regrets.....for each decision, though in and of itself may not have been that well thought through, created an event which I would never want replaced [like the birth of my kids in marriages that did not work out]

Boomer - one year of retirement here:
Yup. Especially if I am traveling somewhere or going to experience something new!!!!
Leisure time, spend time with the family, travel, watch TV, read, look out for my aging mom
I get depressed sometimes but not anymore than I did when I was younger. Chronological age is just a number. I am actually 22 in spirit.
I don't think I am afraid, but I do get apprehensive about wanting to accomplish some things before my time is up.
Yes, the years are passing faster than a speeding bullet.
No regrets that would make be remorseful.

It depends on how healthy or how senior we are. A few years ago, I had cancer and I was very sick. I started making gifts out of plastic canvas and yarn, and donating them to charities. I could do this in bed or in my recliner, or anywhere.
Then I learned how to use the computer. Actually, I only learned the basics, how to turn it on how to click on things. My house is full of computer gurus (Hubby, Sonny, two adult grandsons) so if I want anything elaborate, I ask them. My 88 year old father-in-law went to computer classes at the Jr. college near him, and is now Cyber-Gramps all over the internet.
I got over being sick, and have gone back to cleaning house, (which I hate, and have hated my whole life) and cooking, whcih I love, and playing with the dogs.
I have slowed down a lot, and time does go by really fast. I started making Christmas gifts in September last year and didn't get them all finished in time, so I started in July this year.
My mother-in-law, on the other hand had a heart attack three months ago, and had prepared a DoNotResusitate order which was ignored. They brought her back, and inserted a pacemaker. She is still mad about it, and just mopes around most of the time.

Sure we still have fun and get excited ,I don't get as much leisure time as I used to but in the summer I'm usually gardening and in the winter I enjoy crocheting . I'm going to make a baby blanket for my grandaughter for when she grows up .She's only 13 now but you never know what the future holds and I want her to have a blanket from her gramma. I told her if she has a baby before she is twenty , I'm going to cut it up in little pieces! Yes the years seem to be flying by but I think it's because I'm, so busy. It's too late for regrets, we can't change the past so I accept what comes my way and deal with it'
