15 years ago as I was thumbing through a magazine from my hospital bed,(I was pregnant) I came across one of those psychic advertisements that they always put in the back of the magazines. The heading read:

Know Your Destiny!

Destiny?! Wow, what about naming my daughter Destiny? That's pretty cool and unique! I doubt anyone else has chosen that name, right?

WRONG!

2 hours after giving birth this nurse came into my room and asked me what I named my baby. I said "Destiny"!!!!
Her response?
"Oooooh what a pretty name! My sister's friend blah blah named her daughter that!

From then on it grew in popularity. In 2006 the name Destiny made the top 50 most popular and trendy names!!!!!!

AHHHH!

I will never hate that name, mind you, I just hate how names become SOOOOOO over-used!

I agree re: "ayden" names.
- Jaedon, Hayden, Cayden, Aiden, etc.

Also tired of "aily" names for girls.
- Hailey, Bailey, Calleigh (Kaylee)

And any name that's traditionally a surname but has been used as a first name.
- Mackenzie, Taylor, Madison

So overdone... >.>
