Believe it or not put cotton in one ear... that will make one of your ears able to hear yourself. I always did that when performing as sometimes the pa systems were so loud with every one else you could get drowned out by the monitors facing you (no problem with the audience hearing you, just you hearing you).... the next thing is to practice singing a third above a note and a fifth above the note, then below the note and then do fourths above and below. Pick notes at random and try to zone in on the pitch that you are trying for. Hope this helps.

It sounds like you're doing a show that's exclusive to a place like Pioneer drama and ou can only get the info from them which means you won't get the lyrics until your director gives them to you. Actually I just did a search and that's exactly what it is, and it's called "Doo-Wop Wed Widing Hood" http://www.pioneerdrama.com/searchdetail.asp?pc=DOOWOPWEDW&id=15 On this page there's another link to a study guide for the play and another link to a cast list. There are also links on the right for song samples :-)

Since this is not a mainstream show, this is probably the best you're going to be able to do but it's better than nothing!

break a leg!

If you can't find the lyrics by googling it then your best bet is to just use aol search or just wing it and ask the teacher to help you learn the lyrics after you make the cut. best of luck to you.
