I use limewire all the time. I like it because you are downloading the songs right from someone elses computer! So if there is a new song out there, chances are many people will have it if it is popular, making it easier to find and download!

The quality of P2P software like Limewire is constantly degrading, and not particularly safe for your computer. Malware files can be misrepresented so that you think you're downloading one thing but get another. The pool of users is also diminishing, leaving your connection to wither away.

I suppose it's good if you're looking for a specific file, but if you're downloading something larger like albums or videos you may want to look into torrents instead. They're not necessarily more reliable but if you know what to do with them they're safe for your system and can be anonymously download. Malicious files are less likely to occur because the pool of users downloading or hosting the file will disappear if it's not something valid.

Either one has their pros and cons but really, if you know how to look it's easier to find things through a torrent.

Also, rapidsearch.

i used to untill i scanned computer and found 450+ viruses including 6 trojan horses on my computer. i myself have learned my lesson and i know that i wont do that again. i suggest to anyone that does to go another route. might i suggest "torrents?" there are NO risks for viruses and it is a lot safer all around. google torrents and i am sure after you get things figured out this will be a much more convinient route thean all others. hope this works out! good luck.

Yes and I've never had any problems with it. I think it is a good source to get music and video downloads.
