You will be suffering as much as the Republicans! Terrorism is real!! We were attacked once and will be again. We cannot afford to let our guard down and lower the standards of our military. Stop feeling sorry for the enemy. The world is a dangerous place and we need to do our best to protect our people. Check into your candidates background. Do they have the type of fortitude and determination to be able to deal with foreign nations in time of war? How do you feel they will do when threatened with a terrorist attack?? How will they handle the finances of the nation? What are their solutions for dealing with illegal immigration? How will you feel when the proposal for Universal Health Care is put into effect and you are unable to get the care you need; unable to get an appointment to be treated for an illness that you might have and unable to choose the doctor of your choice? Do you really feel as if the government should be running your life and making the choices for you or are you smart enough to do it yourself? 1) Abandon pro-choice as a party position. Yes there are a lot of pro-choice people but NOT a lot of pro-choice "single issue" voters. It's not a winning position for you. You can still have your individual candidates adopt pro-choice positions without it being a defining Democratic issue.
2) Become pro-taxpayer. It's fine if you want to spend the money the government does get in taxes on different things than the GOP...that's in part what will make you "different...but most people in the middle and lower classes feel as though the government is continually taking their hard earned money. Find a way to lower taxes in general and you'll be a hero.
