I haven't seen one of those kinda stores in awhile. I was told by the local folks, that we were getting a dollar store but it hasn't happened yet.

I shop there all the time... I really like asking for price checks too... it is fun getting those funny/dirty looks from people when I am being silly!

Hells yeah. I got a ton of crap for my apartment from the $0.99/$1 store - it's cheap and if it wears out/breaks/whatever, it's easily (and cheaply) replaced. Sweeeeeeeet.

I sometimes go in for one or two items, amd come out with fifty dollars worth. They are facinating places.

We don't have one - we used to have a pound shop but it closed down, don't know why because it always seemed busy.
