The coinflip between these 2 particular teams was won by the Rockies, so the game is played in Colorado; no other reason.

There was a coinflip for each scenario in case a one game playoff game needed to be played. There was a 50/50 chance and had nothing to do with who had more wins.

The Rockies have more head-to-head wins. Should they have had the same number of wins/losses vs. each other, they would've determined who played at home based on how had the better divisional record.
