If yes, why if no, why not?

Absolutely! I think if people are applying for jobs have to take drug tests than so should the people getting goverment aid. It's only fair. If they fail they should get cut off just like someone getting fired from a job for having drugs in their system.

Why?

Its it because you just blindly assume all people on welfare are hooked on drugs?

Yeah there are some crackheads abusing the system but thats an insignificant yet overly emphasized minority that is constantly highlighted by the ultra conservatives wishing to do away with all social subsidies in America including social security.

Plus a mandatory drug test is a breach of constitutional rights so it cannot be allowed

However it is mandataroy drug tests are required for certain federal employees.

No. In order to qualify for assistance, in many circumstances you have to have children. If a parent is an addict, it does not mean that their children should be denied access to home & food. Also, the government already has too much control over our lives and it would be ridiculous to give them more.

I think that if the situation calls for it, then yes. Otherwise, leave it alone. Not everyone on welfare does drugs or is doing it just because they want free money on the rest of us. There are some situations that do call for help.

my jury's still kinda out on that, but leaning towards a "yes". I look at it sorta like work......you're tested there. Welfare is like work, so the same rules ought to apply.

Our welware system sucks. Serisouly. There are soooo many loop holes and gaps that haven't been shut. We need to do away with it and think of a better way to help our nations poor.
