Is this a dangerous blow to the overall Republicans' race to the Whitehouse?
Does anyone think it will have a major impact on the next election, or that these groups will change their minds and vote for a republican anyway?

Threatened?????? People have the right to vote for whomever they wish! If the candidates running in either party don't suit them, they could vote for someone in any number of parties or back someone in a new party. On any presidential election ballot there are always about 5-10 parties besides the Republican and Democrat......non of these parties threaten anyone. The democratic process may be messy at times, but it is a very good system. May the best candidate win!

I am a conservative evangelical and I've become tired of voting for the "least of two evils". This time I'm backing Ron Paul. He's not REALLY third party but he might as well be for the way the GOP seems to view him as a bothersome pest.

So many people abandoning the all white, male Republican Party : women, Hispanics, blacks, christians. All that will be left is a minority of all white corporate elite males. No big tent for them, only a pup tent.

The power of the "Christian Right" has been greatly exaggerated. They tried this many years ago and failed miserably.
