An omelette is actually made of eggs, cooked to varying degress after having mixed the yolk and white together by beating it. Omelettes can include anything in them, including meats (ham, bacon, saugsage)), vegetables (tomatoes, peppers), or even just plain with a bit of sauce on top.
As far as an omelette made with sushi, caviar, and escargot, it's possible that the omelette included fish or had a caviar topping, however, it's not likely (and probably not very tasty) to include all three of these ingredients in an omelette.
Escargot is an appetizer of cooked snails.
Caviar are fish eggs.
Sushi are delicately made pieces of packed vinegared rice with another food, and is commonly known to include raw fish. (Though not always the case).
It's more likely that they were telling you about several seperate foods that they ate, and not that they were all in an omelette.

You are KIDDING, aren't you? Just in case you aren't, an 'omelette' is made from eggs ... they are 'beaten together' with water or cream, and 'cooked slowly' (it takes time and you have to know what you are doing) and it is 'filled' with different things. There is no 'dish' called Scargo ... escargot is 'snails' in French. Your friend is 'teasing you' if he says his omelette was maid of 'sushi, caviar, and escargot' ... I'll bet he just had a 'plain' omelette, or maybe one with some sort of 'fish' (I'd use shrimp or crab) ... and now you can tell him that you KNOW what an omelette is, and tell him that he didn't eat anything really 'fancy' ... it's basically 'scrambled eggs' without the 'stirring' while it is cooking!

An omelette or omlet is a preparation of beaten egg cooked with butter or oil in a frying pan, usually folded around a filling such as cheese, vegetables, meat, or some combination of the above. Gourmet cook Julia Child famously described an omelette as soft-cooked scrambled eggs wrapped in an envelope of firmly-cooked scrambled eggs. Many variations exist.

An omelette is made up of several eggs, usually 2-3, scrambled and cooked in a pan without scrambling them. Usually they include cheese and toppings such as ham, bell pepper or onion. The egg is heated until it is firm and then folded over to cover up the toppings.
Escargot are snails that are cooked and often eaten with butter.

An omelette is eggs( I just scramble everything together then toss on cheese)...with stuff in it like cheese, onions, green peppers, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, and ham... not all choose the combo you like best. I prefer onions, green peppers, and sausage. Cheese is always a must.... lots of it!!!!

Where are you from? Omelet usually refers to an egg based dish. "scargo" as you put it is probably escargot meaning snails??? Not quite sure on this one. I've never had any kind of seafood in an American omelet.

Scrambled eggs flipped over into a folded crescent shape. As for the other stuff, I think that since you're online you can pretty much find out anything.
