I'm not familiar with all of Brasil, but I did live near Morumbi for several months - and that seemed to be a fairly wealthy area. I actually lived in Caixingui. I am sure there are other areas in other cities as well that are fairly affluent.
As far as scenic - it is hard to beat Rio de Janeiro for overall beauty - though the favelas detract from that a bit. I also thought Campos do Jordao was a beautiful area. There are also several beach areas that are gorgeous.

Well, as I brazilian It's hard for me to say for sure what's the most scenic place. I'd say Rio de Janeiro is the most wonderful city I know. But I can't help mentioning those exotic and paradise-like landscapes in the states of Bahia, Ceará, Pernambuco and many others.
As for the richest place, I don´t think you'll find richness everywhere since our social conditions are quite unequal. Perhaps, in the south, there will be less slums and poverty than in the northeast. Good luck!!

The most scenic part of Brasil is not necessarily the richest part of it. Foz de Iguacu in the South is perhaps one of the most scenic parts. I guess Sao Paulo is the richest State.

There are rich neighborhoods in almost every big city in Brazil. In São Paulo, you can visit Morumbi. In Rio, you can visist Barra da Tijuca. In Bahia, you can visit Caminho das Ãrvores and Corredor da Vitória. There are closed condomÃnios in São Paulo, Rio, Bahia and many other states. Those condomÃnios can be for weathy people. A famous condominioum for rich people is named Alfaville... there are Alfavilles in many states in the country. Ther first one was build in São Paulo. But you will loose a lot from the culture and the people from Brazil if you only visit the rich areas. In Bahia, for example, the mixture of people in the popular neighborhoods is just amazing. The music and dance is incredible. You should also consider visiting the north coast of the country. Brazilian beaches are the best!!! Have fun!

I don´t know. Maybe Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Florianópolis, Fortaleza, São Paulo... All brazilian cities are extremely rich at one side, but poor in the other side. You can cross the street and find a tropical and paradisiac Switzerland, and ten minutes after, you will be in a sudanese humanitarian crisis. I don´t know when our country will become normal. At least, we aren´t in a so bad position (just look our development human index of 0,8 and our economy, the 9th largest in the world). The day Brazil solve this problem, we will become a first world country.

The richest place is Av. Paulista in São Paulo, where most of Brazilian money travels towards it´s financial offices.
As neighborhood, I would say is the "Jardins Area" in São Paulo as well.
The most scenic place...as I love beaches, I choose Florianópolis north side beaches.
