The sign of the cross. It's the holy trinity. It's in the name of the father (head), son(chest), and holy spirit(shoulders). the thing you are think of with the lips is before the gospel. You make a the sign of the cross with your thumb on your forehead, lips, and chest to represent think the word of god, speak the word of god, and believe the word of god.

idk what it is called but it is in the order head lips heart
and it is only ment for the one saying the gospel. that say a private prayer which says God be in my mind so thatr i can understand your word, in my words so that i can preach it without mistakes, and in my heart so that i can live it.
there were a few generations where they did not kknow their religion, therefore eveyone thought they were suposed to do it.
