They are neat to watch for a while. A friend of mine back in IL raises them --her nickname is llamaJo. But they can be stubborn animals and do "spit" when angry.

They are alright to look at from a distance but if you get too close or try to pet them, they will no doubt spit on you. Very disgusting.

They have good accuracy with their spit. Our LA/SS teacher met some once. He should know. ;P
