Jesus was crucified by conservatives for his liberal Ideas. Forgive your enemies, turn the other cheek, etc etc. Democracy was also a rather liberal concept. Anti-slavery was liberal. Social Security was liberal. Anti-child labor was liberal. The very concept of goodness is liberal. How can conservatives hate liberals?

Jesus advocated public prayer, he taught openly in churches, he opposed abortion and homosexuality, He was hardly a liberal..... Jesus said if a man wont work, he should not eat. Jesus also commaned his disciples to buy swords. Jesus also commanded his followers to freely give, not be forced to give. Jesus indeed required actions of his followers, not rhetoric.. hardly liberal fare....

Some of what you say in correct: Jesus was persecuted by those in power, though, I don't know "conservative" or "liberal" as used in the U.S. really apply to the regime of Pontius Pilate or the Jewish aristocracy either.

Forgive your enemies is neither a "conservative" nor a "liberal" idea since both conservatives AND liberals HATE their political rivals. A true Christian should not.

I don't think you can really state for sure that Jesus would favor Social Security, a state-run retirement plan, as he talked a lot about "storing riches in heaven" so he probably wouldn't be worrying a lot about 401K OR S.S. benefits.

I would say the "very concept of goodness is liberal" is debatable at best. I agree it is incumbent on Christ followers to feed the poor, for instance, but I disagree the best way to do this is through inefficient government spending where a large chunk of the dollar is swallowed by bureaucrats and "administrative" expenses and never actually reaches those who need it. I prefer instead to make my donations to private groups who are largely volunteer where a bigger portion of each George Washington actually puts soup in a bowl or a roof over a head.

That's a mighty Rosy picture you paint. Unfortunately, it's a fantasy. All those things, freeing the slaves, social security, anti-child labor laws and such could not have occurred without the support of conservatives. In fact, the civil rights laws of the 60's could not have been passed without overwhelming conservative support. You see, Conservatives aren't against change. They're against unwarranted change. Many changes, once made, can't be unchanged. For example, liberals also created the welfare state which resulted in the creation of a dependent class in the United States, trapping people in a vicious cycle of dependency and poverty. Conservatives, despite liberal president Bill Clinton's objections, overhauled welfare, making drastic changes that helped to break this cycle. You see, while you may feel it's compassionate to give a man a fish, conservatives have always felt that it's more compassionate to teach a man to fish.

I think Jesus would agree.

But good try. Some how I doubt that Jesus would be too please with you and your 'holier than thou' attitude. But then, I'm not Him and, unlike you, don't presume to speak for Him.

Jesus was crucified at the request of Jewish leaders who did it because Jesus claimed to be God.

The rest of your question is not at all what was going, in fact your question makes me wonder if you had ever read the Bible.

I also don't think you understand what the words "conservative" and "liberal" mean.

You have provide no evidence that Conservatives "hate" anyone.

In the Sixties, there were a lot of freedoms claimed that opposed popular morality. Some of those were beneficial for society, and others weren't and were later rejected. The Democratic Party was more accepting of the counterculture than the Republicans, and the association has stuck.

Then there's the sad fact that many Christians believe what a televangelist tells them without much question. If Jerry Falwell tells them to vote Republican, then Jesus must have told Jerry Falwell.

Personally, I just don't find that the GOP represents my interests as a Christian, a Conservative, or as an American. Maybe someday I'll head a large corporation, and then they'll represent my interests, but until then they don't do me any good.

Jesus was crucified on the orders of the local leaders of the town (Jews) and the ones who had to carry it out were Romans. Now just because they were Romans, it does not make them conservative. Anti slavery was Republican and it still it. The democrats are still to this very day pushing hard for slavery, only now they label it "social programs". Wise up.

The concept perhaps, but not the reality of modern day liberals.

Some how I do not think Jesus would appreciate the liberals of today, esp since they personally attack his followers.

He preached to help you neighbor, as much as he preached to take care of yourself.

(FYI, Lincoln was a Republican, and it was the Democrats who held up the votes in the 60's for racial equality. Oh, and the USA always forgives their enemies once they have beaten them. You do not lose a war then forgive.......)

Easy, just read the Bible.

"Jesus took the Liberals and cast them to the Swine. He then forbid the eating of Pork. The Liberals had tainted the Swine."

Has anyone noticed that Democrats Hate Christians, even more than the Terrorists do????????????

Did you know that if you're able bodied, can work, have the ability to fend for yourself, that Jesus would frown on you if you didn't? See, that works both ways.

What happened to family taking care of family? Why should I work and live without an Ipod so that you can have one while I pay for your medical care? Christians aren't mean people, they just don't want to be used and abused.

he gave us free will
but with free will came consequences!

GOD HELPS THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELF!

While Jesus taught us to turn the other cheek he also taught us not to be taken advantage of)
Charity is a good thing but being forced to PAY is not charity.. people should give... (keyword give) freely of themself not be forced to give to those who won't toil the land to survive!
