I live in a dangerous neighborhood, and I've been mugged twice very recently. I simply can't walk 2 blocks outside of my house without facing such dangers. I'm seriously thinking about carrying a bat with me everywhere I go. Would anyone recommend any other ways I can protect myself in these situations or not get involved at all?

I hate to tell you to get a gun, but only because I fear that you will either not use it or not know how or when to use it. There are no law on the books concerning gun control the meet federal or state criteria for legallity. The right to arms granted in the constitution clearly makes it illegal for the feds or states to infringe on this as it was the states themselves that demanded the bill of rights in the first place. All the rights in the bill of rights, which was required for there to be a federal constitution, were meant to apply to the individual, not groups or gov. entities such as the so called militia, which today is the national guard, which is clearly under federal control. I hate the thought of ordinary citizens going about armed, mainly because of the chance for accidents or abuse. Unfortunately the accidents and abuses by our governments, state, federal and local, have proven to be far to high and as gomvernment bodies they have no rights, not even the right to make mistakes, espeacially when they take away the rights of free induviduals to make those same mistakes. We must, absolutely must, take back the basic right and ability to defend ourselves and our families, I promise you, if we do this you will find that the need to do so will decline.

I don't think you should carry a gun because if you shoot them or aim at them then they will try to kill you or something. I say you buy a stun gun at a self defense store. But just to be a safer, you should go to youtube.com and look at self defense videos because it will be better if u know self defense and u have a stun gun. But i say It will be better if you just move to a safe area. Hope this helped =)
