a pet that you will be able to provide for the best, and that you would enjoy the company of. it's a personal decision but make sure it's good for the animal. some people like quiet animals, some like hyper, calm, swimming, etc.

A dog, they were probably the first animal that we domesticated and that is probably why they are so loyal. Cats still have a streak of independence

Hermit crabs.they require little time and care,cheap prices,quiet,and extremely friendly.they hardly ever pinch and get along great with other crabs
