I have an email address but I do not know who it belongs to. I really need to know who's it is, but I cannot email them and ask. I will not get into details but it is important that I know whos email address it is without them knowing that I need to know.

Try searching the social networking sites (Facebook, MySpace, Friendster) for someone with that email address. (Yes, Friendster still exists.)

I have seen sites that claim to be able to due that sort of thing, but they always seem to end up just trying to sell you some type of low end people finder. since the large browsers and isp's are soooo protective of their proprietary services it is unlikely that you will find one that is universally good. i know how important it can be to know who that mail is from ... don't pay for anything! the technology is just not there (yet). of course their are more devious ways .......
