The subject could be that you met the love of your life after you came out of a short coma as he visited you in hospital, as he accidentally dropped something from above while he was up a ladder fixing a drain pipe, you could even have it happen on Friday the 13th. You could have You Never Know Your Luck as the title.

A short story can be pretty broadly interpreted; it doesn’t necessarily have to be about yourself. You have already stated a subject; about what experiences you and your boyfriend had to go through. (granted, it would not include the drama so often associated with love stories if the experiences weren‘t harsh) Although, it's totally possible to make things up. The simplest thing to do.

If the assignment is very general and there are no restrictions upon creating characters or inclining it to an unusual genre (such as scifi), then I would go pick a genre and pick a quick, simple storyline associated with it. (History fiction might be a quick back view into a particular event, etc.)

As for titles, I usually name my stories with one word, although teachers do not take well to that. Think of a moral that could be associated with your story ("Love at First Sight", "There Couldn't Be a Worser Day", etc.) and run with it.

You've just provided a subject - you and your boyfriend and like what you've had to go through to be together like a love story. And the title has to be taken from your work or at least relate to your story, so it doesn't make sense to start with a title that may or may not end up having anything to do with your story.
Good luck -- if it's due tomorrow, you'd better log off Yahoo! and get busy writing...
