Lunch recess usually runs an hour to an hour and a half. Other recesses can be for any amount of time, it is really up to the judge. If the jury is not sequestered they return to the jury room where they are reminded not to discuss the case and then dismissed to get lunch or what ever. If they are sequestered, they are led to the jury room and lunch is brought in.
